Youth Academy

Burgess Hill CC are proud to have a thriving Youth Academy providing cricket opportunities to boys and girls of a wide range of ages and abilities.

We are a Focus Club and registered under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Clubmark Accreditation Scheme. Clubmark is a nationally recognized accreditation scheme for community sports clubs in England, ensuring they are safe, effective, and child-friendly. Managed by Sport England, and aligned with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) like the ECB, it verifies high standards in safeguarding, governance, and coaching.

This means that we have demonstrated that we are fully equipped to look after and develop youngsters and promote cricket throughout our community.

Pathway into Senior Cricket

For those who show strong cricket skills and maturity, we offer opportunities to step up into adult cricket. Several of our current adult players started in our Junior Section and we take great pride in supporting the progression of our cricketers who wish to do so.

Transition sessions, youth-adult friendlies and mentoring from senior players all help to make the step up feel natural and exciting.

The ECB allows players aged 12 and above to participate in adult cricket. As a club, we welcome juniors who are ready to progress into our adult teams and provide a natural pathway for their development. Progress, improve and take your cricket to the next level with us.

Welfare and Safeguarding

The welfare of our junior players is our highest priority. All of our youth coaches and volunteers and DBS checked and trained in safeguarding and first aid. Our Youth Co-ordinators work closely with team managers to ensure that every child is supported, safe, and having fun.

We foster an inclusive environment where every child, regardless of ability or experience, feels welcome and valued.
